Wolves Nottingham prediction 2022-10-15

Wolves vs Nottingham prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2022-10-14 14:00.
It’s been two weeks since Wolverhampton Wanderers sacked Bruno Lage following a 2-0 loss to West Ham, yet they still haven’t appointed a new boss. They’ve been linked with several potential suitors, with Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui looking like an absolute certainty at one stage, but he has sensationally turned down the club. Now Steve Davis and James Collins must try to guide Wolves to a first win since early September (L3).

At least fans of Wolves can take solace in their home form, as they are unbeaten in five of their last six home games despite winning just twice during that run (W2, D3, L1). In fact, with the only defeat across Wolves’ last six here coming against the seemingly unstoppable Manchester City, many will fancy an immediate bounce back to form against Nottingham Forest.

In curious circumstances, the Forest board awarded Steve Cooper with a contract extension following a run of just one win from nine league games to begin the season (D2, L6). That move was hailed by many for recognising the long-term project needed after signing a British record 23 players in the summer. However newly-hired sporting director Filippo Giraldi has sacked both the head of recruitment and the head scout, raising further questions around their summer spending.

Cooper is one of only a few recognisable faces left over from the brilliant Forest side that achieved promotion last season, but a slight spark of improvement may be there after a recent 1-1 draw against Aston Villa ended a five-game losing rot. Cooper described that draw as “a step forward” following a run of 18 conceded goals in five straight defeats, yet the next step will be recording a victory.

Players to watch: Worryingly, Daniel Podence’s strike in a 1-0 win over Southampton remains Wolves’ only goal in over eight hours of play. As for Forest, Emmanuel Dennis scored in his first top-flight start for the club, and ten of his 11 overall Premier League goals came when featuring in the starting XI.

Hot stat: Wolves are unbeaten in ten of their last 11 league games against promoted opposition (W5, D5, L1).
