Zwolle PSV prediction 2024-02-24

Zwolle vs PSV prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2024-02-23 19:00.
PEC Zwolle lost 1-0 at home to Almere City last weekend and, after low-flying clubs Vitesse and Volendam, are the third-worst performing outfit of the competition when it comes to games in their own stadium. That loss ended an unbeaten run of six games (W2, D4) in which they seemed to be slowly joining the clubs competing for places in European football.

The Blauwvingers normally have little say in their fixtures against PSV Eindhoven. The last 16 head-to-heads were all won by the Eindhoven side, and in seven of the last eight editions, the difference between the two sides was at least two goals. Kaj de Rooij, who strengthened the club with his arrival this winter, was injured within 20 minutes of his starting debut last week, so he won’t be present for the time being.

PSV can put their European ambitions briefly on hold after last Tuesday’s 1-1 draw against Borussia Dortmund and will instead focus on the Eredivisie this weekend. They’re having a hard time in the Champions League and have already been eliminated from the KNVB Cup, but in the Eredivisie area there are no still no problems for the runaway leaders, who could increase their lead over number two Feyenoord to 13 points.

Peter Bosz’s side has been undefeated in 36 consecutive competitive games and has managed to strike at least once in all those games. Since the departure of Yorbe Vertessen and the new injury to Noa Lang, the head coach does not have many options on the wings, but in the other positions he has the best kind of selection dilemma. For example, Ricardo Pepi made his starting debut for PSV just last week, whilst the 21-year-old striker has already scored five Eredivisie goals.

Players to watch: Lennart Thy has scored four goals across his last seven appearances in the PEC shirt. Luuk de Jong, on the other hand, has amassed eleven goals and three assists in his last ten official matches for the visitors.

Hot stat: PSV scored exactly four goals in eight of their last thirteen meetings with PEC.
