Zwolle Sittard prediction 2023-11-05

Zwolle vs Sittard prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2023-11-04 13:30.
Their elimination in the first round of the KNVB Cup will have PEC Zwolle bitter and in the mood for revenge. But the fact that the club was eliminated by AFC Amsterdamsche, the largest amateur playing club in the capital, has probably dented the confidence of Johnny Jansen’s team. In the face of extra time, his players allowed themselves to be bluffed.

In the Eredivisie, Zwolle has been doing well with 11 points from their first ten games. That included a very handy four points from back-to-back away trips to Excelsior (4-2 win) and Vitesse (1-1 draw). They began the Sunday matchday program in the top half of the standings, an admirable spot to be for a newcomer. Zwolle has won just once at home so far this season, but with the other four games coming against top-six clubs, the schedule has been tough.

Fortuna Sittard finds themselves in a very difficult situation on the point. Head coach Danny Buijs has seen his side score just one goal in their last five league games (D1, L4), the most recent of which was a scoreless home draw with Utrecht. That means the club from South Limburg are in the poorest form of all Eredivisie teams, conceding a hefty 13 goals across those five games without victory.

At least looking at the entire season overall, they too are in a mid-table position with Zwolle, just one point behind. But the stark contrast from their first five-game block of matches, where they scored seven goals and conceded just four in return, is particularly worrying. An economical but useful KNVB Cup win over amateur club Sparta Nijkerk during the week ensures their season retains some additional colour and challenge until December.

Players to watch: Younes Namli (G2) scored in his past two league matches and has now accumulated as many goals in ten matches for PEC as he did in 44 for Sparta Rotterdam. Meanwhile, Alen Halilovic (G1, A1) was worth his weight in gold for Fortuna Sittard last Wednesday with his match-winning cup goal.

Hot stat: Sittard have not defeated any club ranked above them in the standings prior to Sunday’s matches (D2, L4).
